The Double Empathy Problem

Thinking about Thinking

Empathy – is being able to understand another person’s thoughts and feelings.

The Double Empathy Problem is about two types of thinking.

Autistic thinking and non-autistic thinking.

There is a problem when autistic people and non-autistic find it hard to understand each other’s thinking style.

Part of the solution is for each person to learn about these different thinking styles.

The best way to do this is to get to know eachother.
